I threw away the winning lottery ticket!
The realtiy of a self-employed bum
Have you ever had the winning lottery ticket and didn't cash it in? Have you ever had the ability to make something positive happen in your life but chose to not act. This is something that we all experience. I personally have a business idea that can not only put food on the table, keep my family and i from being evicted, but propel us into a higher tax bracket. Unfortunately it wasn't the right path, why am I reading this guys post he's an idiot you may be thinking to yourself. Well I have to agree with you to a certain extent. However let me finish my point. I could also easily go get a corporate gig and do the same thing, but would i be happy? Hell no. So the idea I had, I did work it and actually made money. One phone call made me $1200. But my heart wasn't in it and I begin to hate the situation. More importantly this idea was not finish being created in my mind. I saw the dollar signs and jumped in to fast. And after grinding my wheels in this unfinished goldmine I had to swallow my pride and haul it all in. This my seem easy to stop a business but I actually had to return checks. All the while hungry. But I quickly understood that it was the right idea just wrong focus.
"To be once defeated is to find cause for an everlasting struggle to reach the top!" M Garvey
I came across that quote last night while reading and it immediately reminded me of the many times I have failed in business, life, and love. And how each time it hurt or embarrassed me and caused me to second guess myself. But through it all I haven't given up my goals and dreams. Something that I can honestly say I didn't realize until reading this quote. During my quest to start an independent entertainment and promotions company I have made several bad decisions, that failed and caused me to lose money. But through it all I always found a way to dust myself off and fight back. And through it all I have refined my idea to where it was supposed to be to make me happy and content with life and allow me to make the impact I was put here to make.
Read the quote and write down the greatest comeback you have had after a failure. And I challenge you to honestly look at your life and determine if you are on the correct path and if your happy with what you grew to be.
